Default 8 or 10" monkey bars?

How tall of bars can you go and still have wind protection for your hands from the batwing fairing?

Your hands need protection? Gloves? Your face?

Weird.

I've had tall bars on my touring bikes, never an issue.

What are you afraid of?

Need protection? No. But it's nice when it's cold out. The less wind hitting your hands, the warmer they will be in the late fall/winter months.

Installed 10" on my FLHX & they were still covered, but real question is...what's your goal (looks/comfort/protection)...?

10" on bike. Hands right even with batwing. I get no wind. Buddies have 12's, hand in wind and feel the wind. They need windproof gloves were I do not.

Anything taller then 10" will expose your hands and if you sell your bike in the future with 12"plus apes, it will limit your buyer pool. Not something you may be planning on today, but good to plan ahead.

My goal is all three... .I like the looks, always want comfort, but I still want to take advantage of the fairing and keep the wind/cold off my hands in the cold months.
