Default Decatted with pics! Very pleased.

Tired of the HEAT!!! I drilled into the cat about 8 times getting much as i could and the took a crow bar and hammered it down the edges and it pulled loose. shop vacuumed out what i could then fired it up and blew out the big piece and all the small pieces. Took about 20 minutes after pulling muffler. I am no mechanic! lol

I then ran three session of auto tune with my Harley Pro Street Tuner and it really woke it up. The street cannons still keep it too quiet but its definitely louder while riding. Main thing HEAT is gone. I have the Stage 2 torque cam. With the cat out it spools up quicker, fly's through the rpms. Very pleased.

Rode 452 miles yesterday and I'm very happy with it. Still looking for some black slip-ons that are louder.

After you got rid of the cat did you get any popping or strange noises using your Street Cannons?

For guys doing this in the future. Get a cheap air hammer and a long chisel attachment and it will make quick work of it.

Great idea! Is a 7" chisel long enough?

I used a new inch and half paddle bit and that almost took the whole cat out, a 2 inch probably would have, then used a long chisel to clean up what was left, very simple procedure. I do not like the sound of my bike now though, the decat gave it a hollow sound and I am going to either buy another stock pipe with the cat or go with the Fullsac MX pipe. Heat was not a problem so I did it just for better sound and in my opinion it made mine worse. I really like the looks of the fullsac, I think it will even out the exhaust and put some sound out of the left muffler instead of 90 percent out the right.

What slip ons are you running? Might have mentioned it, but I missed it. I want to decat mine as well and wondering if the brand slip ons might play more of a role in that hollow sound you're getting.

Do you have any sound clips of yours?

I have RCX 4.5's, the sound is not unbearable but it did change the tone quit a bit and it is hollow sounding now. I tried to record a clip with my phone but it's not worth posting because the play back does not sound anything like in person.
