Good to know! Can't wait till my warranty is up, or close to being up.

As far as stage 1 goes anyone running the full screamin' eagle exhaust with the catless headers and the street cannons with the cat in the mufflers vs just the screamin' eagle slip-on mufflers on stock head pipe?

Asking cause I think I'll wait till my warranty is no longer a concern, then do the cam upgrade.
The aftermarket cams will probably more overlap and duration and I would imagine better sound. Combine that with a true optimized header and I bet it would sound more like a Harley should. Steve posted some pretty impressive numbers with the work he was doing.

I wouldn't waste my money going past a stage 1 through Harley. I personally would wait till after 1k miles and after the initial first check up to do performance mods. Im more into long lasting reliability to me these M8 engines are amazing even in stock form and not worth hot rodding and modiing. But to each there own. I think you should get your new bike ride it for a little first and then decide. I have a feeling youll be happy just doing a stage 1.

Don't like to burst the bubble here, But most of the new motors have more power than the majority can ride, and I could be wrong. Use your transmission, take a riding course and you may be surprised.

I recommend against doing either. The bang : buck ratio is too wide. The bike runs great as is. The stage one is good for looks and sound. Ain't gonna net squat for power.

My Stage 2 gave me nearly 30 extra horses and 24 extra ft/lbs. worth every penny.

I could not agree more..and 'when done properly' it makes significant improvements in performance over what is already a great stock running engine

Okay...so I'm for sure doing a Stage 1 from dealer. For you that have done the stage 1 already, what exhaust are you guys running?

I went with Street Canons and like them, they look, perform and sound better than stock (which surprisingly aren't horrible for once)..mainly at the time because my dealer offered a 20/20 Winter discount and I wanted to maintain warranty so went all SE, which I believe is under rated and gets a mistakenly bad rap..my bike runs absolutely fantastic and all this about needing to remove the cat is also over rated imo..rode thousands of hot scorching Summer miles and it's a non issue..

$1500..Dyno tuned SE Stage 1, runs incredibly well, heat not an issue and warranty intact..so good I've stopped there..what's not to like

it is important to get a reputable dyno tuner..you could start with the ECM Stage 1 calibration (in red) on the chart is what you can expect and you may very well be plenty satisfied, then take your time to find a competent tuner if you want more out it (in blue)
