Stock Air-Cleaner Hi-Flow Mod
I wanted to keep the stocker look without the cost of the expensive SE Hi-Flow air-cleaner which, in my opinion, doesn't flow as well as my design. The video outlining how I made it is here:
Hope it's of use to someone.

That looks like nice work you did. I can't speak for everyone but I put the HD high flow kit ($152) on mine and it was worth that price to me just to get rid of that ugly *** screen and black tupperware. Some may like it but I thought it looked pretty bad. The HD kit trims all of that off for a nice clean look I think. Not trying throw shade or your work, you did a great job!

Very nice work. Totally different than everyone else.
One a somewhat related note, I was able to source the screen/mesh HD used (pretty much) and used it for another mod.

Eventually I plan to do a similar mod as you on my stage 1 back plate but instead fully encompass the screen around the openings (front and around the bottom) just to have something a little different...

That's a great question, and one I expected to get asked. Ram air isn't what it's advertised to be. Atmospheric pressure through the airbox is constant, whether sitting at idle, or traveling at 100 MPH down the highway. Therefore ram air is kind of a myth. The only benefit is the cooler air that reaches the intake. The cooler, the better. Forced induction via turbo or supercharger is the only way to boost atmospheric pressure.

Your original post about performing this modification last week left a lot to be desired, nobody including myself had any idea what you were talking about.
I give a man credit when credit is due, your video is the exact type of instructional video everyone cherishes because it's informative and you go through each step perfectly clear.
For anyone wanting to copy your modification this video leaves no doubt on the sequence, process and final product.
Two thumbs up for the video and for your ingenuity.
