Default MOCO Strikes Again!

I installed the Daymaker LED Headlight yesterday on my 2018 SGS (why the SGS doesn't come stock withe Daymaker headlight still baffles all science...).

Here are the instructions that came with the headlight:

Step 1. Secure motorcycle on side stand or appropriate work platform

Step 2. Disconnect battery

Step 3. Refer to Harley-Davidson Service Manual for installation instructions

What?!? What kind of Jedi mind trick is that?? I realize that the H-D Service Manual is extremely useful and probably one of the first things you should buy after you purchase your bike, but this seems like a cheap ploy to force people to buy one.

When I installed the Daymaker on my last 2 H-D's, they came with full instructions.

Remove the retaining ring around the headlight (save for use with the daymaker), remove the screws holding the lamp in place, disconnect the bulb and connect the daymaker. Replace screws and retaining ring. Some pull the outer fairing, 7 bolts - very easy

I've seen them refer to the service manual for more complicated installations. But, for the headlight..that's chicken ****!!

I know it seems like a cheap shot OP but I never used instructions to install a new light. Well I guess a little. One of them I looked at to see how they suggested installing the metal strengthening framework in a Road Glide but just a half glance.

With all the **** inside fairings today I'd say it's a case of them covering their asses , things don't work it's on you as to why if you didn't use the book. Days of the old bad photo copy instruction sheets a long gone.

I'll miss the "could result in death or serious injury" part. Bastards!

I bought the aftermarket Sunpie Daymaker head light for $79 and two driving lights for $39 for my my 2010 EG Limited from Amazon and their wasn't any instructions either.
It didn't take a rocket scientist to install them. I didn't even disconnect the battery, just plugged em in.
