Well it was more of a direct answer to the OP's concerns of not having a true reading for oil anymore.
So if some do care about that, they now require you to buy one....whether it works correctly or is junk I dont know. I know harley offers one as well as aftermarket manufacturers.

This is what HD listed when they released a boom box update at the same time that the first M-8s were hitting the streets. AFAIK HD still hasn't come out with the P&A accessory to show oil PSI

On my 2014 SGS, the oil pressure monitor would give an actual number of what the PSI level was. On my 2018 SGS, it either says "OK" or "Check Oil". I checked the owner's manual and you can't change it to give you an actual PSI reading.
Wonder why they changed it? Too many people freaking out when the oil pressure would drop at idle causing them to return to dealer?

Pretty simple - one more computer-driven system that takes care of all that pesky, outdated "thinking for oneself" for today's computer-driven-person-on-the-go!
