So if some do care about that, they now require you to buy one....whether it works correctly or is junk I dont know. I know harley offers one as well as aftermarket manufacturers.
Well, we got a little off topic in regards to my original post. The digital dipstick is "OK" for checking oil level and oil temp, but it won't give you an oil pressure reading.

Think again.Moco promised a parts accessory kit in late 2016 for the 2017 model, but it never came to be.Still waiting along with thousands of other M8 owners.

This is what HD listed when they released a boom box update at the same time that the first M-8s were hitting the streets. AFAIK HD still hasn't come out with the P&A accessory to show oil PSI

Boom! Box 6.5GT
Date Released: 08/23/2016
Version: 1.20.1
Change Log:

• Vehicle Information screen will display “OK” or “Check Oil”
for oil pressure on MY17 models. Oil pressure values can
be enabled with a P&A accessory for MY17 vehicles.

Most cars don't even say Check Oil or OK, just idiot lights and no one complains about that.

OK, which P&A accessory would that be?

Wonder why they changed it? Too many people freaking out when the oil pressure would drop at idle causing them to return to dealer?
I'd guess that the MoCo assumes that the average owner just isn't quite bright enough to tell what's acceptable pressure and what's not. It's far better to let the computer figure it out and reduce the brain-load on the poor, stupid rider.

Pretty simple - one more computer-driven system that takes care of all that pesky, outdated "thinking for oneself" for today's computer-driven-person-on-the-go!
