Things could be worse, you could be an Indian owner

This is my take on the H-D vs Indian ****.
Unless you've owned the brand you're trashing or touting, your opinion is irrelevant.
I've owned both and owned and rode Harley for 44 years before selling my last one (05 FLSTSC) in 2013 after putting 88,000 pretty hard miles on it.
Had I believed everything I heard from people slamming Harleys who had never owned one, I never would have bought one for myself. Same goes for Indian.
If you haven't owned one, you're just blowing smoke. Nothing more.
Now if you think they're ugly? Well that's just a personal opinion and I won't argue that because it don't matter to me.

I went to an Indian dealer Saturday. Had my harley shirt on, pulled up on my Limited and started checking out the bikes. I thought they looked pretty good, I might be in the minority and I did like the big fender. The dang think had lots of options that the Harley doesnt have until you buy the CVO. The salesman was friendly, even commented on my bike, said he liked it. Asked me about the M8, I told him it pulled like a horse, I love the M8. The Indian was nice, I didnt take it for a test drive although I was tempted. I will never get rid of my Harley I think it is a rolling work of art. If I had one complaint, it doesnt sound very Harley at the moment but soon, that will change.
They do talk quite a bit about us there though... almost like they have to keep convincing themselves that they made the right choice....... LOL, theyll be back, they will be back...... Until then, pass the HD kool-aid please, cherry flavored. Do they still make kool-aid?

50 of the 350 I rode because I wanted try it out last Christmas. last time the bike was fired up was last Christmas. Before I bag on my brother I'll add he's a pilot for a billionaire in Africa and spends 6 months of the year in Africa.
Anyway, I've ridden one.

My brother is one of those guys who buys stuff for the cool factor and never uses it. He has a 2016 Indian Chieftain (he got it in 2015) with 350 miles.

Take one on a couple thousand mile trip and then tell me what "you" think. Not what your Brother or some guy at a bike night thinks.

I would think "test drive" would tell me if I wanted to own one....... Im thinking Iron owns an Indian.......

I didn't tell you what my brother thinks, I told you what he owned. 50 miles is more than enough for me to decide if I'd be willing to change bikes or if I like it.

Agree. A test ride can tell you if you want to own one. But it doesn't qualify you to spout about how dependable they are or anything else beyond you weren't impressed enough to buy one.

For the record, I never said anything about Indian dependability or anything else that might have been derogatory. In fact, I said i liked the way they looked. I never took it for a test drive. I wanted to look at them, I think they're cool, but there's no way in hell im trading my M8 in for one.......
