Many think that about the new Softail line up...…… so maybe all the American brands are now copying the metrics huh? funny it use to be the other way around! The Springfield is a really nice bike, if I were in the market for a New, brand new bike - my 3 picks would be 1- Road King 2- Indian Springfield and 3 - Yamaha Transcontinental
All these are Awesome bikes, choice is good. BTW - the new gold wing just doesn't do it for me & the BMW is not appealing to me. but they are goodbikes

Indians aren't for me. Whatever people want to buy and ride.
I, on the other hand used to be a Softail fan. (6 Heritage Classics)
Today I would NOT have a Softail anything because of the Rice look.

We went looking to replace my wife's Heritage in '15. Tried a RK and the SG but couldn't get her to try the RG. The Chief Vintage won out. Her opinion was that it rode smoother, handled better and she wouldn't have to replace forks and shocks. People want to talk to her about her Indian every time we stop- my black Cross Country not so much.
