Default Oil In The Throttle Body

Yes, a subject beaten to death. When I had my air cleaner off for the first time this weekend, I spotted about a half teaspoon of oil in the throttle body (normal). There was none in the air cleaner. I was just randomly looking at the OEM parts catalog for my bike and saw that the breather bolts have an updated part number. Could it be they have a smaller orifice to prevent some of this from happening? I'm going to get a pair of them and see.

using this or similar removes all those hoses from the intake.

Will be watching this to see if you can recognize the difference between them.

I run that as well, never any oil in the filter or pooled in the TB. This design works very well.

I think that is the way it's supposed to work. The little hose from the breathers is aimed directly into the throttle body. Unless there is an excess of oil, it should all turn into crust on the top of your pistons (cross thread points) with none left over to drip in your filter.

How can that be?

The M8 vents the crankcase to the transmission There's 15 "experts" here on the forum that'll tell you that and they all lean on one thing; an incorrect article that appeared in Cycle World.

All kidding aside, route that blow by out of the intake via a hose to the ground. No need for a catch can.

Lol you think adding a heavy breather intake will resolve the issue? The lines are just routed directly back to the throttle body.

Having had a few different styles of filters and also converted to external, My observation is that not all systems do a good job at getting The vapors into the TB. Some are quite lousy at it and are just drippers. The Heavy Breather does a very good job of Getting the Vapors into the TB without making a mess.
