Default 2018 Road Glide Special, might not be my right bike

I'm looking to get a 2018 RG in spring. As much as I love the upgrades on the Special I already plan on doing the fat 180 kit from Native on the front wheel and eventually getting rear stretched fender/bags from a reputable manufacture. Like the look and quality of Top Shop. Nothing to wild. Love the all blacked out look but I'm a chrome guy. The bigger infotainment screen is the only thing that really interest me. Is there anything else I'm missing between the two models. Can I upgrade to the bigger screen on the standard. Ive heard different stories from different local dealers.

well if you like and want ABS then it's an $800 option on the RG and Standard on the RGS..but if you're swapping wheels/tires not sure if that will play nicely or at all with Reflex Linked ABS

The 6.5 Infotainment screen with GPS is available on the 2018 RG and SG as a option.

Wonder if the first guys to drive cars with rubber tires said the same thing about them? "How did we survive all these years riding around on those great wooden spoke wheels with no rubber!!" lol

Default 18 rgs

Go with the special...The linked brakes, by themselves, are worth the extra money. The boom box GPS is a bonus at that point. It's not the easiest GPS to live with, but it will work.
Yes, you can buy the RG and then upgrade to the special parts but it will cost you more money that way.
I've only done one panic stop on my bike so far but it stops a lot quicker than any bike I've ever ridden.

Panic stops are a hell of a lot easier and safer with ABS and Linked brakes. I don't care how experienced you are, you're human. That to me is the biggest difference between the two models.
