Default Smart tune...or just street tuner is good enough?

Going SE stage 2 and Trying to decide between just getting the street tuner or getting the additional smart tune module...

I know PV etc, but this is for my 5 year warranty/ESP...

Anyone loving the SE smart tune or wish they had it? Or are you completely satisfied with just the basic street tuner...

And does the street tuner have some auto tuning features at all? Or is it essentially canned maps and tables?

Thanks

I’m probably one of the odd *****. I’m totally happy with the SE Street Tuner. Run some auto tune sessions to dial it in and you’re set. I’ve had the Power Vision in the past, along with Target Tune wide bands and for as much as everybody hypes the pros of the Power Vision, the Street Tuner is fine. My Stage 1 M8 runs cooler than my Stage 2 Twin Cam.

I also like the software with the Street Tuner more than the Dynojet software.

You would have $700 total in that tuner set up and still be EPA crippled but if the warranty is that important to you there is no other real option. I'm certainly no expert but would I pay that, hell to the naw! I'm sure you will get a variety of opinions here. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Im happy with the SE tuner with my stage II, but not able to compare it to anything else. Im guessing a couple HP is not worth voiding the warranty, but to each his/her own.

Thanks guys.

Q- I'm glad the Street has some auto tune features. The stuff is so new the dealer hasn't sold any yet or played with it.

Quik I get drawing the line somewhere. That's why I'm hoping the street tuner will be enough. Sticking with the warranty on this one for now unfortunately, but honestly loving it so far. Anything that helps keep me entertained till the warranty runs out is my friend.

Strat any "good" vote is a good vote.

You will love the Stage II. Just make sure that the person installing it, uses the right locktight on the adjustable PushRods. Dont ask me how I know.....

i went with the Torque cam.

Umm.....adjustable pushrods don't get locktighted........if they told you they used the wrong locktight, it is to cover up for not tightening properly.......

YMMV

I have the SE pro street tuner along with street cannons and the SE air cleaner that lets you use the stock cover. 2018 FXLR. I like the SE tuner. Bike runs great with great fuel economy. The autotune is called smart tune (I think).

I have a PV from my previous bike that I could re-license and use but won't because of the warranty issue. IMO the PV autotune is way better than the SE smart tune. Not necessarily the results, but the graphical display letting you know where you mapped and didn't is cool. The LED on the SE tuner just blinks faster when the buffer is full. That's kinda cheesy but I can't argue with the results. I also do not like the software as well as the PV software. It could be I'm just more familar with the PV stuff.

I have an older twin cam bike with a PC5 and autotune. I felt it was needed on that bike. I don't think I would buy the autotune module for the SE tuner unless I went non SE parts.
