Just turned over 725 km / 450 miles on my 2018 Road King and no serious problems so far.
1) Idle has settled down to between 830 to 870 RPM but still hunts and shakes; I'm considering the reflash to raise the idle to a smoother 950 RPM (re: M1436).
2) Had to add a few ounces of engine oil to get the cold level to optimum on the dipstick. Oil level doesn't seem to rise much when warm...hope there is no sumping going on!
3) No sign of transmission oil transfer (at least, transmission oil level is not dropping).
4) Drive belt is way too tight...I can barely get it to deflect with way more than 10 lbs of force. It is probably causing the moaning I hear after the bike is warm and I decelerate or come to a stop. Unless the belt loosens up/stretches by the time of my first service, I will have the dealer address this issue.
Overall, the Road King is the most responsive, comfortable riding and best sounding cruiser I have owned right out of the crate. All my previous metric cruisers required serious modifications to eliminate wind buffeting and make them ergonomically comfortable (i.e.: V-Star 1100, Road Star 1700, VTX1800R, Vulcan 1700 Classic LT).
