FWIW....... There are many who will say that the oettinger style clamp (crimp clamp) is superior to worm/screw clamps....
There is nothing wrong with the worm/screw clamps, but a lot of people will tend to over tighten them, causing damage to the hose. Most styles of worm/screw clamps do not provide a uniform, 360° pressure on the fitting.
You need to use the proper sized oettinger clamp and it needs to be properly crimped. If the right size/proper crimp are used, an oettinger clamp will give a uniform, 360° pressure and won't damage/cut into the hose like a worm/screw clamp can. Many people don't like them because the are not reusable and can be hard to access, in some applications, to apply the proper crimp.
In addition to the advantages mentioned above;
They are smaller in a given application than a comparable worm/screw clamp.
They never leave a nasty tab, like the worm/screw clamps, waiting to cut you.
It's my opinion, that they look more professional in most applications.
I have a large assortment of oettinger clamps, and two different crimp tools. My first choice is to use an oettinger clamp...
