What are any pros the touring line frame has over the new Softail?

The Softails use an engine with two counter balancers and the engine is solidly mounted to the frame.

The touring bikes use an engine with one counter balancer and the engine is rubber mounted.

To answer your question, the Touring Bike Frame has these neat little thingies to attach matching colored hard bags...

...and that frame will be a memory quite soon I predict, especially since is was last updated in 2009...

When I demoed the new Heritage the vibration in the floorboards was awful. They may have double counter-balancers but the vibrations at speed are very distracting and take away from the ride. So to answer your question the touring frame is much better suited comfort wise in my opinion. I do like the idea of putting the touring frame on a diet and lose some pounds and it should eventually happen.

I hear a lot about this supposed vibration at speed and yet I've had the new FatBoy over 90 on a couple of different roads on a couple different occasions and it was like floating on air. Floorboard vibration was nil.

By contrast, I just traded my '13 RoadGlide for the new 114, in top shape with very low miles and it rode very well too. Yet, it seemed less effortless at speed overall. The Touring frame is a dinosaur mildly redesigned 9 years ago, feeling heavy, having a fairly dreadful suspension fore and aft (at least on my '13!) and felt "looser" overall. When the road was perfect, the Touring bikes ride extremely well. The overall "composure" however, is like day and night.

I here people saying the Touring frame is going to be replaced but I do not know where they are getting it. The frame was changed in 2017, so I doubt there is a new one coming any time soon! The M8 engine required the frame to be changed as it will not fit the 2016 and earlier frame!

The Softail frame is not designed to carry the total weight that the Touring frame is.

Are you sure they changed frames? The Moco loves to brag about upgrades and seems like no one has heard of a frame change.

From looking around the web all i can find is they moved engine mounts to mount the m8.

Perhaps they moved an engine mount a few microns, but unless I am mistaken (though I very well might be) the last significant frame change to the Touring Bikes was 2009.
