Default Oil Pump Upgrade worth it?

while installing my cam dealer said my 19 fxdr did not have the newest oil pump and recommended getting the latest upgrade from HD.
From what i can find there are upgrades to the original oil pump that happened throughout late 17- present.
My question is that is it worth it to spend the 140 or so dollars for the "new new" oil pump or is my already updated one just fine?
For the time being i told him to order it, said it would be about 10-14 days until it gets there. I am just wondering if its 140 well spent or an added amount for no reason at all. He said i can cancel it whenever and they will just proceed with the rest of the instal if i decide to not go with it. Side note. he isnt changing the labor rate for installing the oil pump because he is already there with the cam. so it would only be the extra 140.
From what he said is it could run just fine no issues or could be catastrophic as i know some have experienced. Is that still true with the updates made throughout the model years or is the one in the 2020's the best route?

+1, I did the same on my 2019 cvo. The whole kit is $109 at surdyke, had it in about a week.

Go S&S. Look at it like this HD got it wrong a few tries. What makes you think it is the best now. HD Oil pump is not up to the S&S and other well made pumps in a few ways.

You think he should spend hundreds of dollars more for parts and have an Indie install it for labor when he is getting free labor???

Sorry but that's a ridiculous statement!

As I recall, S&S also got it wrong early on and had to do an update, then it was not until S&S cut a groove in their back plate to accept the HD seal that it became a really good pump. But why pay that price when the HD 8 Lobe has proven itself.

I am assuming this new 8 lobe pump is the best thing to go with then. he said he could do some more work on the price. it looks like the one from surdyke is about 121 shipped. see if he cant match that.
