The Red Shift Cam comes with a new bearing. Bought the S&S adjustable rods and gasket kit all from Zippers.

We didn’t do valve springs, the stock ones are fine up to certain lift (.550?)...New cam bearing and S&S lifters were installed.

ok, just recall Steve Cole mentioning the stock valve springs come damn close to coil bind even with the SE TQ and PWR cams..probably a fine line in upgrading those cuz it was also mentioned too stiff of springs that are not necessary might cause other wear related issues so was just curious what folks were doing

I remember that post now, I wonder how much more cost that would add to a Stage 2 upgrade? The lifters are obviously easy to replace, and the adjustable push rods keep the whole labor cost down.

Anyone ever get a price on valve spring cost and labor to replace?

No need to replace the stock springs for a properly sized bolt in camshaft. I would not want to go any bigger than 0.470 lift on a bolt in M8 camshaft. You have to be careful on too much lift as the production tolerances have to be handled. You also start running very close on piston to valve clearance in the OEM setup 107, 114 and 117 M8 engines.
