the rear cylinder. Still using the auto tune feature. I wish the thunder max software had a 3D timing and fuel tables instead of the 1D crap.

The early '17 M8 stock bikes were set at 850 RPM from the factory. They later changed that spec to 950 RPM, and programmed bikes when they were in for service. This was done due to some concern with oiling; maybe an attempt to scavenge more oil from the crankcase at idle in response to sumping concerns. Who really knows? I personally wouldn't run it under 900 RPM for those reasons. Want more lope? Bigger cam.

This RS 468 cam is proving to be very versatile , very strong over a range of capacities and compression ratios , their 472 looks like it gives up a little TQ for an ability to rev a little harder. I've not seen or heard enough about the 472 to have my own thoughts on that cam
Quite an achievement the 468 cam.
Peace.

Wanting to install Redshift 468
I have a 2018 Deluxe that is bone stock other than V&H slash cut slip ons. I assume that an intake would be in order with this cam and was wondering if just changing to a K&N element in the stock housing would be sufficient? I’m on a tight budget. I have put FP3’s on my last three bikes and hate that they are married to the bike. Is there a better alternative? Thanks, Roy

Rinehart Slimline Duals with 4” exhaust, Screamin’ Eagle Hi-Flow A/C, V&H FP3 and Zippers Red Shift 468 Cam. So far so good, had to download a couple new tunes from V&H’s and it’s sounding and feeling strong. Crisp throttle response and gets loud under heavy throttle. That lopey idle is back!

I put a 468 cam in my bike at Sturgis this year along with a Thundermax, Trask air cleaner and D & D billet pipe. The bike runs SO much better now. I wish this is how it came from the factory. I didn't dyno it and let the Thundermax do the autotune. So far I'm very pleased with the way it performs. I have no idea on numbers but I no longer have to downshift when passing.
