Hey, you forgot to tell them that the transmission hasn’t transferred or leaked a drop, which is more than I can say for the pushrod tubes.

So the fix that I started this thread for seems to be working fine. When I do the last cam install I will pull the cover and the slave cylinder off for a look 👀, but I expect everything to be good.

Default Inspected Seal

So when we were doing the last cam install today, we (Steve Cole and I) pulled the actuator (slave cylinder) for the clutch to see what I have going on with the nut and seal fix for transmission oil transfer. What we saw was exactly what I had hoped we would see.

The little bit of oil you see in the top picture is condensation from the primary case. I use Redline transmission oil so if the seal was leaking it would be pink oil there. I really hoped this would take place to lubricate the clutch pushrod and the plunger on the actuator. We did add an O-ring to the actuator to keep oil from leaking from the cavity.

All of us thank you very much!! Is your fix and Harleys "mystery" plastic seal fix related? Do you think theirs is going to work?

Other than the location in the transmission, no they are not related. I have no idea if their disc is going to work. I think it might on a transmission that is transferring a small amount. For the ones pushing several ounces across in a few hundred miles, I guess we’ll have to see.

Do you think that condensation is of any concern? I know it will flash off as the bike reaches operation temp, but I guess it looks like more than I would have expected. Of course I'm not all that bright, soooooo. Maybe it's from all that SoCal rain lately, lol......
