Default color matched inner fairing and apes

I am thinking of adding a color matched inner fairing and color matched 13" apes. because its so close to riding season, I will do the ape hangers first (can order them and have them powder coated while I still enjoy riding). Probably do the color matched inner fairing next winter (bike will be down while I get the inner fairing painted. I looked at the factory color matched inner fairing... at that price NO WAY. I guess I could buy another plain inner fairing and have that one painted. anyone out there had any experience doing this.

On my 07 I just removed mine and had painted. If you do every thing lot of peaces but not hard to do. Make darn sure you use a painter that knows the material they are painting. I have seen some that looked great day one but over time chipped cracked a look like crap. Getting springs back in door was fun the firat time.

Check out the fairingxchange. I’m gonna meet up with them this summer and have them swap out my inner fairing

Plus 2 on the fairing exchange. I had an issue with the color match but Paul took care of it right away

Paul is the best, hands down. Advice is to find a rally he's working and have him do it there, you'll be done in 45 minutes.

2018 schedule is here: https://thefairingxchange.com/about

I bit the bullet and bought mine painted from HD. No down time was worth it to me.

I had the dealer do the inner fairing as part of the purchaced only bad thing is the fairing cracked on install so I'm waiting for the dealer to call and tell me to bring the bike in when new fairing arrives.

I talked with the dealer yesterday. he told me that he could swap my inner fairing if he has one in stock. I found the fairing xchange online. that is an option. I am meeting him Monday to go over the details and to put down on work to get things started. I made it clear that I want zero down time (except for the one day it will take them to put all the goodies on). my god.... it never ends. lol
