Standard or Special?

I glad the 2012 was not your last Harley after all.
If you here to take a standard and buy all the parts to make it a special you would spend far more than 5,000. If you are a blacked out lover then the special is the way to go.
ABS, security, 6.5 screen, talon wheels, 18" in rear, murdered out engine parts, blacked out front end, gloss inner fairing, larger speakers...there really is quite a lot when you buy the special.
You said the special is an eye catcher so go for it.

Well after 28 years we are parting ways! It is a peaceful and friendly soon to be a dissolved marriage!
At 65 my income and spending is more conservative, but I will look at both of them side by side in the coming weeks.
Not only the 5k for the Special unit, I would need to do my performance mods and personal touches for additional funds required.

It depends weather you are a chrome kind of guy or a blacked out kind of guy because you can buy a standard with nav, security and anti lock breaks (which is the same thing as a special minus the bags) between $2500 - $3000 less money. I am a chrome kind of guy because I hate to keep black clean and all the black parts show every little scratch. I dusted them off in the show room, that’s how I know. In a year or two I think the black will not look very good because of this. Plain and simple the FLHX is a better buy.
