Default Anyone know what the M8 lower rocker covers are made of?

Wondering if anyone who's had these apart, know what this part is made of? Is it aluminum, or steel, or brass, or iron, or?

Thanks!

I'd guess that they're made of the cheapest Chinese metal available.

Okay, follow-up question: did you have any concerns about powder coating something that's going to get so hot? I'm looking at getting them either powder coated or maybe ceramic coated, but what I've been reading says powdercoating is usually baked on at maybe 350 degrees or so, and the cylinder heads can get that hot, so wouldn't that be an issue? Or did you use some sort of heat-resistant powder?

No concerns at all. The shop that did the work has had many rocker boxes coated without an issue. Both the owner of the shop and mechanics have theirs done. No signs of chipping or wear.
