Which Cam?

If you’re going with fuelmoto headpipe then you’re not concerned with warranty so I’d have a look at their review of a variety of cams for the 114, I imagine should be relevant to the 117? Or just give them a call to discuss. You going with a PV as well?

What is your definition of performance? Are you looking for a cam that pulls from the very bottom up or are you looking for a high horsepower number? You’re starting out with a 117 ci motor so it will be a little different than a 107 ci.

I would go with the S&S 475, unless you're strictly looking for low end TQ. Look at both of the 6 cam comparison tests done by Fuel Moto, the S&S was the 2nd highest HP in both, yet retains better TQ than the Woods 222, the cam with the highest HP. With a 117 you will already have more TQ because of the added CI. If you intended to up the CR with a thinner HG I might go with the 222, FM also ran a test of 117 @ 10.75 CR with the 222, but it was a 4.375 stroke x 4.125 bore. Your's is 4.5x4.075 with 10.0 CR, if you really want some power throw some 4.125 pistons in & make it a 124, it only takes $$. There are some other cams out there, but those 6 have the most testing & info available showing good results. You might want to call FM & get their recommendation also. Good luck & have fun, it should be a blast whichever one you pick!
