Default Undetectable tuner

So my friend says there is a ecm tuner that you can install and when you have a problem plug your stock ecm and take in warranty and Harley will never know..anyone have experience with this.

It’s not true, the moco will always be able to detect any tuner other than theirs that’s been installed. If warranty is a concern than stay with screaming eagle

Wonder if XIEDs would be detectable after removal?

I am no expert, but I had a regional HD service rep state that any tuner leaves a record in the ECU that cannot be erased, so any tuner other than the SEPST would void the warranty. My guess is the ECU records any tune and stores it where it cannot be accessed, but just a guess.

Default xied

no way to spot XIED..........it's just a resistor that changes voltage and spoofs the ECM and demands more fuel. thought of getting one myself.

Not sure about the XIED's, had a set of the adj., installed on my 2017 CVO Limited. It ran ok at first than power dropped, like an engine that was sumping. Removed the XIED's and took to dealer, they could not figure what happened, But there was a funky map that needed to removed and have original reflashed. No problems since, installed torque cam, PV-2 and map from dyno jet. I have the adj xieds for sale if anyone is interested. Make offer.

A Piggy back tuner would probably be ok as well.

Here's the rule of thumb: if it flashes the ECM, it's a problem.

just curious why you chose the Torque Cam, 447 presuming, since you went with an aftermarket tune? sounds like once you go outside compliance then the aftermarket cams whoop the SE versions..???
