From Softail to Touring
#21
I loved my '14 Road King, but was starting to get nervous about the weight when stopped and parking. Traded the RK for a '18 Heritage 114 Softail, nite and day difference in the weight when stopped, absolutely love this new Heritage, going to ride it to California and points west.......When ever it decides to warm up........

That is a valid reason. The touring models are heavier to move around the garage and when stopped. I went from an 18 Road King to a softail and could tell the difference. I had a hernia bothering me at the time. I am 61 and in good shape and currently have no problem moving this RK around. I do like the ride of the RK better and love the looks. The new softails are great handling bikes and great for touring if you don't need a lot of storage space. The Fat Boy has less travel than the Heritage softail and is a little stiffer with one rider.

I’m also a fairly new convert from Softail to touring. I traded my 05 FXST for a 13 Limited about a year ago, then about a month ago, I traded the Limited in on a 2018 RGU. I think that I’m going to love the new Road Glide, it only have about 400 miles on it because the weather won’t cooperate on my days off.
