Default Opinions on 2018 Road King with M8?

Is the M8 107 gutsy enough for this guy, the 2018 RK? Seems like it would be since prior models used the V-Twin 103. Appreciate all comments on this bike.

Go ride one and let us know. Just got my 18 RGS, love the engine. Better than my 99, 10, and 15 HDs.

Anything in particular about the bike you would like to comment on? And what did you have before?

traded a 2014 Street Glide for it, mainly because I prefer the non-fairing bike. I had no use for the fairing, gps or radio.

So not because it's a 2018 that's making anything special, it's the characteristics for me of owning the RK over the SG. Better view, better handling, more nimble, lighter front end, but still maintaining a touring bike setup. But my observations so far, are a smoother transmission, smoother ride, smoother engine, overall just a little better. I tried a '18 Road Glide as well, and had the same opinion, just better than the SG I had.

all subjective of course

Engine and suspension improvements are the big from my 15 RK to 17 RK. Also think the new knock sensors do the job. 103 was a dog in Summer pushed hard at high elevations, M8 107 was barely affected

It also would not hurt to test ride a 2018 Heritage while you are at it. Test rides cost nothing.

2018 RK is the coolest bike I have ever owned. The M8 is amazing as far as I am concerned. 8k miles so far no hiccups. I can't say enough about it. The only thing about it I have learned to live which I really don't care for is the digital tachometer on screen 6 of the little display window mounted inside the speedometer on the tank. I prefer a heads up tachometer in a separate gauge. Took a while to get used to until I got a good feel for the bike and motor. Bike is amazing around 2700+ rpm in any of the lower gears. I can live with the tach issue, but you asked.

One issue I just noticed this week. 40 degrees in the garage when I left for work, left the bike sitting in the sun as the day warmed up. By the time I went to lunch it was 70 degrees and there was condensation inside the speedometer window. By the time I returned back to the shop it was gone. This is the first time I have noticed this. Figuring it was a bad seal I was gonna take it for warranty. After searching and reading threads I have learned. "They all do that".....especially if there is a clothes dryer inside the garage which in my case there is not. My JD tractors do the same thing.
