Fueling oil pump installed and ride report

A friend of mine, who has a 2017 Trike, 107 had the sumping issue, they put it on the dyno to tune and it sumped but was sumping before that as well but he didn't realize what was happening.
Any way, to make a long story short, the local HD dealer took it in under warranty and installed the plate behind the pump and they put it back on the dyno yesterday and no problems. So apparently the plate is the fix for the issue. I'll report back after our ride today.

It has been three months since VDeuce and kllrvet updated this thread. I am planning an upgrade to my 2017 Road Glide to a Zippers Red Shift 468 and I would like to know if I need to include the Fueling oil pump in the project. I've never experience sumping but I don't ride hard. I'm sure with the new cam I will change my riding habits.
I finished the install and had dyno tuned a few weeks ago, and no issues, sum or otherwise. Hoping wont.
Still on OEM oil pump, but considering using latest HD pump with new seal. I ride a lot and no sense of having a 117 if I don't get on it.

I've tried to look at the differences between the TC and M8 that may have any effect on sumping.
My temps went down with my aftermarket exhaust. Also a god tune is necessary to keep temps okay and performance optimized.

It don't sump.
It fixed the sumping issue for me and mine did sump once prior to the install. No other changes to the engine were made after the Feuling stuff went in.
IMO, what you end up with is the $ cost for the insurance it won't do it, You have 4 choices as I see it from least desirable to most:
- Leave it alone.
- Install the latest HD pump with new backing plate and o-ring
- S&S (but we recently heard of one with 11 ounces of oil drained with this pump)
- Feuling (more expensive, but have not heard a single sumping report)
