I was finally able to find the dyno sheet. The peak torque wasn't all that different, but was great across the range. I'm not concerned with the dip below 2750 as the only time I'm there is first gear.

If you are riding a touring bike and not riding/cruising between 2000-2500 rpms I think you are missing some of the best part of a Harley engine...Gobs of bottom-end torque! I regularly cruise between 1500-2500 rpms in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and yes...even 6th gears.
Its all about the load put on the engine NOT the rpms.
Light load in ANY gear and 1500-2000 is very usable.
JMHO,
Bob

I have to agree, and recall Steve Cole stating similar...I have peak 105 tq at 3000 rpms..I do spend a fair amount of time between 2500-3000 but when I find myself below that it feels perfectly capable and impressive and in no way does it feel like it's lugging..guess a lot of us have been underestimating these and appreciate hearing validation from professionals like yourself that there's no need for concern..heck even the shift recommendation points in our manuals concur with what you are stating. my rule of thumb has always been whatever gear, rpm, etc you are in, when you twist the throttle and get instant acceleration you are not lugging, consequently if there is a delay then that's lugging, for the most part anyway, thanks

They're right... You want your torque in the low rpms. All that riding above 3500 will make your mind go numb, and hearing loss.

No offense, but those numbers look horrible for a stage 2...
