17 CVO SG...Mastertune TTS or ThunderMax Autotune
#2
If you are handy with a PC and not scared of working on your bike the ThunderMax can be a good deal. If properly set up and adjusted (by you) the bike will run great. You can calibrate your speedo and read / reset every fault code and so much more. You will never need to spend money and take your chances (we have all heard the horror stories) on a dyno tune. I put in a close map when I got the Stage 1 on the old bike and then checked / accepted the tuning changes every 500 to 1000 miles and the bike ran great. When I put in a cam I did the exact same thing and the bike ran great once again. When I felt that my gas mileage was a little lower than it should be I made some minor changes to the maps and my mileage increased by about 2 mpg.
What the TM auto tune won't get you is every single last horse power out of your bike, only a good tuner, taking his time can do that. If you get a sucky tuner, or he is in a hurry then you get a bad tune...
I ran the TM for over 30,000 miles in 2011 RGU and I was never sorry for making that choice....
