I notice in the radios description you can add a rear facing camera which of course is a very important addition. LOL

I did find in the radios description it will work with what they call Harleys thumb controls. Also would like to know after installation how well it works.

That's what I should have done. When I got my new 2018, I thought I'd be smart and add the Stage 2 Boom audio to my CVO limited.. Well long story short, it sounds great when the bike isn't running but somehow? HD cuts the bass as soon as you start the bike. The upgrade was a complete waste of 2 grand. I know, sounds like bitching but I only blame myself because I read all the complaints on the forums before I did the upgrade..

OP I look forward to seeing the newest bike.

Thanks for posting this on the Sony head unit. I am glad to see options out there. With threads on failures and $1800.00 replacement prices I would go this way also assuming the hand controls work.

Keep us posted.

Default Xav - ax100

Just FYI, I installed the XAV - AX100 last year and added an amp and better speakers. I couldn't be happier with the set up, especially the head unit. It works flawlessly (so far) with the HD handlebar controls. When connecting my Iphone, via the USB, it pulls up the Apple Play app and I have access to maps and all of my Itunes. I think you will be happy with your purchase.

Thats why I was asking if you found out it was "WEATHERPROOF". It reads as though it is a interior car head unit that will fit in the HD fairing and somehow works with the hand controls. So far non of that has been verified. I'm not bashing your find due, just seeing if you asked any questions about it before dropping $545 to enlighten the rest of us here, thats what this forum is about.

i hear that the Sony head units fail in the rain, is there an included fix for this in the kit? is that why it costs more than MSRP? there is a guy i follow on FB that makes custom waterproof covers for radio swaps "shimmy's custom covers"

does anybody have experience with sony headunits in rain and surviving? failing?
