What’s your opinion? Would you consider going back to TC because of M8 concerns?

Bull ****! then your running with a pitiful 103, cause I run with a guy who is an acquaintance of the group I ride with & even his 114 wont bury my 103 let alone the 107. see these are the stories that crack me up, stories that the M8 just plain out right leaves the TC sitting still - NOT TRUE at all & to me these are buyers trying to justify a purchase knowing full well they bought something that has a few improvements & were wishing for more than they got!
will the M8 beat the TC103? Yes...……. but not by much - no where near as depicted in the threads on this forum!

There was a poll not long ago in this section of HDF for M8 owners (all M8 owners, not just those wanting to share their woes). I assume that HDF is a fair representation of Harley owners, but perhaps not. Anyway, last time I checked that thread (about two weeks ago) 19% of HDF M8 owners had sumping or transfer issues.

But to the OP's question, still have a TC. Having one bike sucks when work is being done on a bike. Had my RGS with my Indy for 5 weeks getting a ton of work done to it. None of it motor related other than an oil change and heavier fork fluid when I had the new lowers added. And the Pro Action shocks are AWESOME!!!

Hell No!
This is the best harley I've had. Had more problems with my 15 and the wife's 15. Cannot believe the level of paranoia around the M8 on this forum. I frequent 3 dealers and never talk to anyone who thinks the sky is falling.
Like Webby and others have said many times the number of bikes having issues is probably less than 1%

Not a chance.
My neighbor, actually he lives a mile from me but here that's a neighbor. He has a 2016 Road King same color as mine. Last time we rode I asked him if he had ridden an M8, he hadn't and didn't believe they were that much different. We switched bikes for about 30 minutes, when we stopped he was grinning from ear to ear and said "The difference between to two is incredible". He doesn't ride much, in fact my 2018 has more miles than his 2016.
His bike was nice, but felt like I had a piano strapped to the back on a trailer. From a distance it's hard for most to tell them apart.
Talked to him yesterday and he is upgrading to a new one. Said his wife will never know the difference. The only I thing I liked about his better was the sound. His favorite things about mine was the smoothness, less vibration and increased power. I believe those who beat up on the M8, probably haven't ridden one.

Absolutely not. However I have kept some of the TC's. I traded a 12 RGC for a 17 RGS stage I. It out performs the 12 in riding, handling and performance. There is 11K miles on it with no issues. The 114 in the 18 Fat Bob is so far ahead of any Dyna/Softail that I have had it is amazing. A little over 1K only but no issues so far.

Considering if you gave me a twinkie I'd just turn around and sell before riding it, no I wouldn't consider switching. M8 has some growing pains but so did every new design harleys ever released and the twin cams in particular. That platform went through numerous changes, upgrades and modification for numerous issues some of which harley never solved.
