Holy S*** my new 2018 Lowrider is making a loud noise
I have a new 2018 Lowrider with just 107 miles on it.
Today was the first time I took it over 3000 rpm and at about 3000 rpm it starts making a rather loud rapping noise. Not the typical ticking but more of a rap rap rap. And it just gets louder the higher the rpm. I have only took it to 3500 rpm as it is still with in the 500 mile break in period. I am almost afraid to ride it as I don't want something letting loose in the engine.
I live about 60 miles from the dealer so I will have to wait until Monday to take it in. I just hope it is OK to ride it to the dealer.

Also I just went out and started her up to see if I could hear anything at idle.
What I hear is a inconsistent tapping/ticking sound which almost seems to be coming from the primary. Maybe a loose primary chain or a loose compensator?

Thats most likely the issue. Mine over tightened and was whining like a supercharge. Some do not adjust at all. Should be checked on a 1000 miles service though.

Could you please be more specific on how to perform the "quick upshifts" to get the primary chain adjuster to tighten up?
I don't quite understand what you are saying.
Thanks

Can't verify this but elsewhere here it was suggested to warm up the engine/primary chain. Shut down and put in gear. Roll the bike back and forward against the transmission a few times. Idea was to put some slack in the primary chain enough for the adjuster to take up slack. Has to be a warmed engine not cold. All I read.
If still loud could be engine problems. If so don't do whatever makes it loud until the dealer has a look.
