Just curious if anyone has gone back to a HO103 after riding an M8? Are you happy with the decision?

Yes. Every time I get off of my ‘18 Deluxe I walk right over to my ‘17 Slim and ride it.

Yes, whenever I take my wife's Fat Boy Lo out for a "maintenance run". I prefer the M8.

I had a CVO 103 Fat Boy. My RGS would leave it in the dust. I'll keep my M8.

Yes. I went from a 17 Limited M8 to an 11 Limited 103. Not entirely by choice.
I totalled my M8 with 17,000 miles on it. I then bought the 103 but only because it's a sidecar rig. I would love to have another M8 but not right yet. The wife says I can not get rid of the sidecar but I can buy a new bike once I pay down some debt.

I thought the 103 HO engine was the best engine Harley had ever made until I rode the M8. I knew I was buying the M8 before I got off the dealers parking lot for my test ride.

I really wanted a HO 103 & tried hard to buy a low mileage 14-16 RK before buying my M8 on 6-28, people wanted too much money for them compared to what I paid for a new 2018

Makes sense.
My M8 was in the shop to fix a leaking case, total engine teardown and same parts going back in.
Now I have a bad rear bearing and a clutch switch acting up. I just don't want to wake up and find a transfer issue after 20,000 miles like some have reported.
In the 14,000 miles I've owned the bike I have been doing 80 for 1.5 hrs tops so sumping is still a concern since I have original pump and now Harley has new the cases.
Bottom line is I knew I was buying an untried motor but now I know for sure these issues pop up even after many trouble free miles.
I love my M8 but may trade mine for a 16 and wait till all the "Harley" fixes are in, so far after 2 year they don't have any fixes.
