Oil Cooler on a Twin Cooled M8?
#11
You may have missed the OP's original question. The Harley Oil cooler for your 18 RGS will not fit on a Twin cooled M8... On another note, I agree with lp... Mine feels cool as cucumber in just about every riding condition. I'm sure it's getting pretty warm sitting in traffic but the EITMS kicks in and the fans are running... No issues.
I guess i will try enabling and see if that helps.

Looks like you need to use the touring oil filter relocation kit. I have one on my FLSTN since it moves the oil filter to the downtube. I can't see putting one on my FLTRU since it relocates the oil filter to behind the primary. That location seems too exposed. While I'd like to pick up an oil cooler, I can't see doing it when I have to put the filter in such an exposed location.

Regarding lean angle, it is designed so that the slip-ons, rider floorboard, saddlebag guard (if equipped) and primary all touch down before getting close to the oil filter.
I personally have over 75K miles on my own bikes with it in this location, with zero issues. More importantly, we have hundreds of Customers with it in this location, with millions of miles, and have not had a single report of an issue because of the location.
We have had hundreds of reports of it running cooler, and the filter change being super easy because of the location.

The filter is relocated to behind the primary and under the passenger floorboard, AND much higher than the rider floorboard.

Pictures of one installed on a 2017 or 2018 touring bike?
