I haven't done it yet on my M8, but I used a DK Custom lift kit on my 2009 Ultra and really liked it.

I did a 2.5” on front and a 1” on back on my slim, love it because it’s easier to clean the top of the jugs to. But I also put on some 4” risers to help clear the tank.

Can anyone comment on any installation issues I might encounter with my RK?
Any Seat Fit concerns? (I have a Mustang Summit.)
I already have H-D Fork Fangs and the Kuryakyn Triple Tree Deflector to address buffeting. Will raising the tank affect my current setup adversely?
We always suggest checking for clearance when adding a tank lift.

With your seat, it may raise the nose of the seat slightly.

The tank lift will only have positive effects with your current set up. It will help with buffeting as well as less air is coming up and over the tank and is able to circulate better around the engine, helping with cooling.

Thanks DK Custom,
I placed my order this afternoon. The 10% discount for first-time customers was appreciated.

I received the DK Customs Deluxe 1.5" lift kit today and installed it.
I have tried to attached some garage photos (raining today), so hopefully they give a good idea of what the kit does.

Note: I was able to re-use the Harley tank ear rubber covers/grommets in reverse fashion to protect the wiring loom on the right side of the spine.
You can see the part number on the cover in the backwards position, but I think they look good along with the lift brackets.

The weather should be nice tomorrow, so I will get an idea of any improvements in wind management and engine cooling.
DK Customs advises that there could be minor handling issues to get used to with the slightly higher centre of gravity...but, it can't be any worse than adding a top box or "healthy" passenger

Thanks for the blue/silver post up!

I've been thinking about a front lift and leaving the rear part of the tank stock.

I think the black rear tank spacers included with the deluxe kit were worthwhile (although you could simply add your own washers/spacers).
Be careful if you try to use your own spacers with the stock rear tank bolts. The stock bolts are short and have a bit of thread-cutting taper on the end which effectively reduces the thread engagement length.
Depending on how high you raise the front, it could tip down the seat mounting tongue at the back of the tank making reinstalling your seat more difficult (another valid reason for the deluxe rear spacers).
Raising the back should also negate most of the tank filling or fuel gauge accuracy issues...and it makes cleaning the top of the rear valve cover easier.

My only con, and it wouldn't be an issue for you, is it really changes the airflow on a RGS. I didn't care for it

I've got one that's practically brand new if you want to try it save some $$ over new
How much you asking for your lift?
