If you're warranty is up, or you dont care about keeping it, I would go with aftermarket all day. Better results for less money and better quality parts IMO. You could also go with a full blown 120' kit from fuel moto or the likes

The stock 114 engine has a longer stroke which gives it the bigger displacement.
The 114 can also have a 117 stage 2 or 3 kit installed by the dealer.
After your two year warranty is up the 114 can be bumped up to 124 with an aftermarket big bore kit like the one offered by
Fuel Moto, the 107 cannot.

Looks like compression goes from 10:1 in the 107, to 11:1 with the stage 3 kit. The Bore changes, stroke remains the same. But heads, cam, tune, intake... all play a part in getting peak numbers. Gotta look at charts to see when that peak torque hits. But are you just interested in peak numbers or a solid curve?

If you have the choice and money it seems foolish not to get the 114 initially. $1300 is a bargain.

Solid curve for the way I ride. Interesting point. So I would probably have to upgrade to at least Stage 1 with the 114 to get a better curve? Very crafty on their part!

Honestly, I think you will be happy either way. I went 107 because I got a good deal on it. Had I gotten a good deal on the 114, I would have done that too. I’m still going to jug mine out to a 120, and would have done the 114 to 124. I guess it just depends on what you want to do to the bike. For me, say maybe 1000 of that shows in resale, so would it have been worth the extra 800 for 4 more cubes in the end for me? Can’t say.

Note: *engine* torque, not measured at the wheel. Big difference.

yuppers...nonetheless..the engines do have some obviously and undeniably healthy usable torque for folks that are number dwellers
