Good for you, nobody should have to put up with inferior equipment nor worry about a new purchase that could take a dump like that ...... enjoy your 14’.

I don't want to start anything,but, a few observations....

If you do a minor stage 1 upgrade to the M8 engine is fine.
If you ride the M8 hard i.e. in the above 4500rpms constantly it begins to break down.
If you have a stage 4 and ride them really hard, then major problems occur.

The engine is new, there are bound to have kinks in it, they will be sorted out.
So far every time HD changes engine we get first few years problems...it's a cycle of manufacturing. This happens in all manufacturing companies.

Hope I haven't started anything but just a few observations.

I totally agree with this. I have been extensively following and participating in this process to the point of adnausium, but after 1-1/2 years, 2 bikes, 29,000 miles, and COUNTESS trips to the dealership for experiments and repairs....... I'm out. For now anyhow. Next time, after MoCo fixes their issues, I would do a Stage ? kit but probably an after market. Meanwhile, I'm headed out for a ride on the new bike!

Fingers crossed all the typical TC issues don't raise their ugly head on your new bike. That would be a total run of bad luck... I would prob give up Harley at that point. ha.

What issues would that be? We are long past the cam bearing and tensioner issues.

Good luck and enjoy.

I guess if I had had that many problems I would feel the same. Glad to have 10k trouble free miles so far. I don’t think I would be happy going back to the TC.

Ride on

Oh the usual complaints. Some more usual than others - all of which have some way of addressing the issue since it was like a 17 year run.

Neutral rattle
Excessive vibration
Noisy lifters/valves/top end
Weak Compensator (3-4 versions)
Overly tight primary chain tensioner (2 versions)
Oil Leaking stator plug
Excessive heat
Crank runout on larger builds

You know, that stuff. If I was the OP I wouldn't worry though. The 14's were pretty good bikes. I also had one that never let me down minus the neutral rattle.
