You Bought the 2017 because of the M8 or other reason ?

If it was not for the m8 and all the improvements I would have been content on my highly modified 98 Roadking forever. One ride on an 18 Streetglide Special and I was sold. 11500 miles no troubles and no regrets. My buddy bought the first 17 Streetglide that game off the assembly line he was the one in Hogtails. It has 25000 miles and no problems. He likes the M8 so much he bought an18 Limited to go with it.

I had my 09 street glide up for sale at a high price as a feeler To see what I could get for it. Someone came to see it and it was set up perfect for him. He bought it at 8am and i was at the HD dealer at 10am when they opened to get my 17. Color, navigation, and the motor was why I wanted to upgrade. I love my M8 and I'm happy I have it.

To me, the major improvement of the M8 is roll-on power at highway speeds. Stock to stock, no question the M8 out pulls a 2016 twin cam. On my 2016 I’d have to shift down to 5th to get a strong burst of power. On the M8 I rarely drop out of 6th.
The M8 gets better fuel mileage, too.

It just happened to be what was out when I got the wild hair and decided to buy a new bike. I wanted to move up to something bigger from my Vstar 1100 for a while and had looked at different brands on and off for a while. I did at least want Rushmore for the bag latches and other things they had upgraded with that.

because I like living on the edge. The edge of knowing whether a motor splodes or not, stops pumping oil through the motor, automatically and mysteriously transports one fluid to another part of the motor that shouldn't be using that type of fluid, to see how many hundreds of miles you can get from a touring bike wheel bearing.
Most of all, its a classic lesson on how an Iconic company can implode onto itself with just bad management, the classic MBA as boss disease, eating your own and your seed corn.

I was riding a Dyna Switchback I'd bought new in '14. I was toying with the idea of moving to a Touring Bike. I was outriding one Saturday for their demo days, the only M8 I could get on was an Ultra Limited Low (because they were so busy), which wasn't a comfortable fit for me. Had the Dyna in for service on Monday, so I asked the saleman to hook me up with a new ('17) Streetglide for a test ride. When I got back I told him to write one up.
I struggled a bit with the extra cost of Laguna Orange, now I'm really glad I went with it. So it wasn't the color that sold me. It was the M8.
1 1/2 years in, I've had no problems, I love this bike.

I bought my 18 RGS because It was time for a change.Coming off a 2011 103 SG it was quite a upgrade,Sold my SG to a Buddy so I have gotten to do some comparisons.107 is so much smoother an I tow my old bike with ease the 107 is sneaky fast.It has way more noticeable Tourqe especially rideing my wife.It Rides better but the best thing I like is Its a RG handles much better than my 2 prior SGs No more turning that BatWing.I have 4000 miles so far an my best Harley to date.
