As a Harley enthusiast who watched closely the m8 issues hoping to buy one it’s still a risk according to Steve’s research. I am curious if any case design changes could be made on the fly or would retooling and downtime be too big a deterrent? If so, what timeline in years would it be before a revised or totally different platform is produced? TCs went 17-18 years, is the m8 going to last as long?

Any dry sump motor has the potential to sump given the right circumstances, I wouldn’t worry about it if you want one.

All of the changes I speak of would not be hard at all for HD to do. All can be done by modifying the tooling they already have. There would be some down time while the modifications are made but in the long run would make a much more robust setup. Increased cost after tooling changes would be little to none IMHO.
