If these are slipper clutches as labeled in some ads, write ups, forums, isn't the point to have the clutch disengage and engage right at the top of the pull? At least that's how the work on all other bikes, mainly crotch rockets and MX bikes. Makes for faster shifts.

They are not slipper clutches like those used on dirt bikes. These are used on some bigger bikes tho. Don't know it makes any difference where they engage as far as function goes other than friction zone and clutch drag.

Is there a write up or video on how to do the install somewhere? I'd like to try and do this mod myself over the winter.

I finally installed mine last week and, as I expected, the difference is very real and AWESOME. My bike also has the Softbrake lever and it works great in conjunction with the new spring seat. Can’t wait for some warmer weather so I can actually ride it.

Are you talking about the 3 bolts that hold the clutch pack in place? Part #36706-01K? If so, and I don’t have it in front of me, but I think it was 90-110 inch pounds. I know I set my torque wrench for 100 inch pounds. And yes, the spacer is the very last thing at the back of the clutch pack. It can be tough to get out of there, you may need a pick of some sort.

After getting comfortable on my RK I swapped out grips and bars, and between the two it allowed me to to go lock to lock w/o overreaching the lever. Granted it’s pricier than the seat replacement, but I’m not altering any stacked tolerances with this new clutch, and these are changes most riders individualize anyway.

Not knocking anyone’s choice, just presenting another approach to the issue. The important thing is that when on a full lock right the clutch can still be feathered with complete control.

The damper seat for both the 107 and 114 softail don't seem to have changed for 2019, they all seem to be listing the 37000036 as mentioned above ...doesn't tell us if the new one would work tho, just that they aren't using it in the 2019

a slipper clutch is so the rear tire doesn’t chirp, skid, on down shifts going into corners, nothing to do with the lever action
