Try to check the seat out just before closing on Saturday afternoon. Unless they're really going to be dicks about it, that means you have it for two days.

I tested every Harley seat except the Zeppelin. I'm not going to trust those air bladders. There have been too many for sale that "leak a little."

The best Harley seat I've ever used, by far, is the Hammock. That is the seat that comes stock on new CVO's. I have put over 40,000 miles on mine. Just had it recovered. The absolute best part, other than the support that that strap of cloth under the seat gives you, is the fact that the nose is wider than other seats. That single fact is what supports your thighs, and stops you from feeling that you're sliding forward and slouching. Now, if you're on of those "Harley riders" that absolutely, positively, has to get both feet flat on the ground at every stop, and you're under 5'10", then this may not be the seat for you.

On the other hand, every single rider I've met that switched to the Hammock loved it.

I have 2 Hammock seats. 1 the rider only and 1 the CVO heated Hammock. I bought a Road Zeppelin and it was not as comfortable to me and raised me up more than the Hammocks. So I sold it. I'd love to try a Day-Long seat but fear the will be to tall for my 29" inseam. I can ride 800 miles a day on the Hammocks. I like the rider only Hammock the best. I'd like to find another rider only Hammock at a good price, mines starting to show its age. Good luck finding a seat, every butts different and enjoy the trip. It sounds like a great time

The Corbin dual touring with back rest is truly the best seat I have owned. Had pretty much all the Hd's and Danny Gray and Saddleman. Butts are like mufflers and wind shields ,you just gotta find what works for you. The bad of that is it get's costly.

Default Update!

After trying the stock seat, a modified stock seat, a Saddlemen seat, a Road Zep, a Mustang seat and a Harley Hammock we settled on the Harley Hammock.

We we now have 10,000 miles on it and it is still very comfortable for us.

I’ve listed the Mustang seat for sale in the appropriate section of this forum.

I’ve tried a bunch of seats on a bunch of bikes over the years and keep coming back to the stock seat with a good sheepskin. I just drape a full pelt over the seat, which cover the rider and passenger. I cut a small slot for the rider backrest. Works better for me than hammock, sundowner, zeppelin, le pera, mustang, saddlemen, Danny gray and maybe one or two I’m forgetting. The quest for a comfortable seat seems to be about like the quest for a cool running Harley.

What was the deciding factor to go with the Hammock? Any area it vastly exceeded the others or was it just more comfortable in general?

I just switched from the stock seat to the HD Low Profile single seat and while I love it for my 30-40 minute work commutes, I suspect I won't enjoy it during 2-3-4+ hour rides.

We have had a heated Hammock for around 20K miles. The hammock is certainly more comfortable than the stock street glide seat, but for me after a couple hours it gets uncomfortable. Recently ordered a Corbin Fire and Ice Dual Tour. Hopefully, it will arrive soon. I've read lots of good things about the dual tour seat, it is pricey. I'm hoping it's worth it.

It just worked best for our specific butts. The other seats were uncomfortable for my sitz bones and my wife's tailbone. We also learned that sometimes the seat isn't the entire problem; the suspension has to work well for you. If your car seat was uncomfortable would you replace it or maybe start to look at the shocks/springs/struts? We started by upgrading the suspension and that solved about half of the problem. Finding the right seat was fine-tuning.

I’m glad you found a seat that works. It is a tough thing to do at times. I tried all the Harley seats except the zeppelin. None of them worked and I sold them. The seat that worked for us was the Day Long seat. Pure bliss.

Russell makes it and worth looking at if you haven’t found the right seat yet.
