It's possible that there are less posts/threads about sumping problems because posters get dog piled by M8 owners that think if they run everyone off who has problems they won't have the same issue with their machines. I guess I understand to an extent in one respect. Many 2017 and even 2018 owners have tried to trade themselves out of problems by buying 2019s. I don't know if these folks took a hit on residual value but my guess is that used private party sales aren't going to command high resale value for the 2017, 18 and 19 model years. Especially if the fix is a redesign of the engine cases or some other non upgradable solution.

Running off folks who truly have problems they want to discuss because you don't want to be upside down in a long term loan if word gets out M8 problems are a little more widespread than HD would like to admit is at best unethical.

try being without your bike for 8 weeks, still making the payments, been told it was fixed twice, broke 3 times and nothing but lip service from H D corparate,so far I see no end in sight,H D warranty is a joke.Service managers and techs have told me it needs to be opened up and looked at but corporate has their hands tied. They already have your money and don't care about their customers,if your not having troubles your lucky,if you expierence the issues you'll have different point of view

For those of you that have either experienced it or are concerned about it, I'll cross my fingers for you. The pump plate looks promising; only time will tell the tale.

I'm just glad to be out of my sumping nightmare. Just checking in everyone once in awhile to see if anything new develops. Same 'ol, same 'ol I see. Good luck to those dealing with sumping issues and good luck to the others that they never develop any serious drivetrain issues. From my perspective I have no interest in rejoining the current M8 "battle". I don't think you'll have compelling evidence of success with the new pump design til next Spring when big miles are being accumulated during warmer weather. I've watched pump redesign after pump redesign ultimately fail after enough miles are accumulated. I have no reason to believe this weak effort will be any different.

I'll wait til Aug 2019. If HD comes back with some serious upgrades and proven redesigns, I'll take a good look at them. If not, I'll be moving on to a new brand and let the fanboys continue with their home brew fixes for something the manufacturer should have taken care of 2 yrs ago. What a waste of money and time. Still enjoying my other bike but you couldn't pay me to be in a 2017, 2018 or 2019 HD bike of any type.

I just have to ask most states have a 30 day shop time or 3 tries at repair before they have to buy it back ,and cover your cost . There are a lot of good bikes out there ,maybe I just got lucky I wish everyone would have . I guarantee if my harley cant make it past the lemon law they would own it belive that ,The best way to get hd attention is make them buy there bikes back and there junk qc and shortcuts would stop. I took mine apart and 99 percent of the parts were of good quailty except the junk fastners and craptosa assembly. Think im kidding chevy choked on the 55000 by back for there lifter cam eating debacle dont know if they still have the problem but one thing for sure its not my problem . Harley should meet the same standard and not be let off the hook .

i know i know down the road, guess i will cross that bridge if i get to it , till then ride it like u stole it .

Lemon laws only apply to motorcycles in about half the States.
