I was looking at the Motoport stuff.
Looks like long underwear with the sock connections down mid shin.
Anyone give this stuff a go? I run their raingear, good stuff, custom lengths. [good for the short fat kids...]

I never heard of heated overpants only liners but I have never used lower heat. I wouldn't think that they would do much good on top of whatever regular pants you have on underneath them. The closer heated gear is to you the better it works, IMHO. I put my heated gear on before the ride not during and turn it on or off when needed and would do the same with pant liner/socks. All Gerbing stuff that I have seen now is Gerbings by Gyde but I read that the family has maintained the business somehow since it was sold. Warm and Safe is highly regarded and I am going to buy some of their gloves soon to replace an old pair of Gerbings that a wire is starting to poke through. When you look at controllers consider going BT. I would never go back to the other controller. Regardless, aside from having to put all the crap on, I enjoy riding in the winter as long as roads are ice free and for me temps no lower than around 30 now that I am in upper 60s. I don't worry about the road stuff--rinseless car wash is easy and quick enough to get the rough stuff off once in a while. I hope that you enjoy the extra ride time. I wouldn't be surprised if you wished that you had done it sooner. Unplug the tender, plug in the gear and hit it.

I have Gerbing heated overpants, jacket liner and gloves. The wife as the same. We purchased them new in 2009. The pants and jacket liners still work great. I also use the dual controller. The gloves however if used a lot don’t last as long. I spoke with a tech / designer guy with Gerbing while they were up in Eden, NC and he gave me the skinny on the gloves. The wires are placed close to the skin when made. But over time the wires move and get farther away from the skin. They are still actually getting just as hot/warm but you cannot feel it as much. So you think your gloves are not working as well. There is no fix for that. So like many we have replaced our gloves.
When you have those long rides and temps are below 40 heated gear is a MUST.
And as already asked “why is this in the M8 section”??????
