Cold start M8 issue

Cold start M8 issue
In August I bought a 2018 RoadKing. I love it. I live in NY and since the temps dropped below 40 degrees it does not always start. The dealer says it may not start in cold weather. I think that is a BS answer. Does anyone have an M8 that is not in a temperature controlled environment who uses it during the cold weather? I am going to push hard for a fix but want to know if this is my bike or all M8's. I can't believe it a a large issue because searches do not pull up loads of complaints. Any info is appreciated. Thanks from a newbie. Ron

When you say "doesn't start" do you mean it cranks and cranks but doesn't fire up? Or it refuses to crank?
Oh, I see you stated it cranks like crazy, sorry. We get lots of 40 degree weather here in SoCal this time of year. My 2018 RGU starts as easily at 40f as it does at 90f. One thing it will do at 40f is immediately after starting the rpm will dive down to near zero and then rebound. My 2016 Ultra Classic did the same thing, so I think it is pretty normal.
What is not normal is a bike that refuses to start at 40f with a good battery. Something isn't right.
