According to the last service bulletin I saw, 6 ounces is what they consider the threshold for it being a problem. Under 6 ounces, nothing gets hurt (apparently); over 6 ounces and they figure that some damage may have been done, and that clearly the bike has a problem outside "normal" parameters.

I understand the sumping, but why as 05cvoeg stated, they are only covering the pump and the labour was on his dime.

Ive seen this issue brought up and discussed several times now. Ive read through some of the threads and got some opposing points of view and such. Is this "problem" something that was addressed in production and prior to the '19 models? There was just so much info I can't make heads or tales of it all. Thanks.

Trusting my local dealer they charged the factory for as much as possible. I ended up getting stage 2 torque cam with the new 2019 oil pump and new plate for around half of just stage 2

Because they are claiming with 6oz or less it is operating to spec. There is no general recall. But, they are giving you a new pump regardless, but not providing labor.

Where is the crank sensor located that is being pulled to check for sumping?
