Default Trade 2018 RG for CVO?

15 month old RG, 63 yr old rider. Before getting 2018 RG, last bike was RK bot in 2004.

Kinda pining for 2019 RG CVO, maco blue/black. I “can afford” it. Retired, no income. Wife said “ok” but no idea it’s ~2X price of std RG (which she kinda gagged on last year).

I’ve wondered why the f posters ask for opinions here, but here I am. Guess I just want to see if there are any pros/cons that I haven’t already mulled on. Im new to the south and year long riding, still only did 6-7k miles last year.

I want the CVO, but my math brain says f no! “You should be happy with 2018 RG you bot last year, after trading in RK. You don’t ride enough, you’re effing over 60!”

Flame on!!

You should be happy but if you’re not get the Cvo if you can afford it and don’t look back, F it, you only live once.

What is it about your current bike that you feel is lacking?

Had a 18 RG Special and a 14 RK CVO, saw the 19 RG CVO when I was picking up one of my bikes (had them change fork oil on 14). The dealer was just rolling it out on to the floor, now I am down to a 2019 RG CVO hope that helps.

I also had an ‘18 RGS that I really enjoyed, it was my first RG. I really like the black/blue paint so when I had the chance to get the Mako I did. This is my second CVO and I like everything about it.

I love the CVO's, but I just never could "pull the trigger" due to the price. I paid $22K for my 2018 RGS, that's like 1/2 the cost of a CVO.

I just traded a beautiful trouble free '16 SGS for a '19 RG. Nothing wrong with the SGS just knew I had made a mistake and wanted a RG. I'm 64, coming off a heart attack, who knows how many years left of riding I have left and just said **** it. Fortunately I have a wife who felt the same way and encouraged me to get what I want. Good luck.
