Rinehart Slip-ons for 2018+ Softails

Happy NY everyone!!
I was told by Rinehart, that the Slip-ons for the 2018+ Softails are significantly shorter than the OEM mufflers. If I was going to use the OEM heat shields that I would have to cut them to match the Rinehart Slip-ons.
Anyone have experience with this?
ThX in advance!!

The headers are covered by the heat shields. You are not replacing the headers. The exhaust slip ons do not have heat shields. So not sure what your talking about.

My 2018 Fat Boy does have heat shields on both the headers and separate heat shields on the mufflers. I do believe the Rhinehart mufflers are shorter than the stock heat shields but you can run them without the stock muffler shields. I run Tab performance muffs on my FB which work with the stock shields.

My bad as I did not know that Fat Boys exhaust have heat shields on them. My heritage classic doesnt and it looked like it was similar pipes.

I have a set of chrome Rineharts for the FLFBS (and other models) which will require cutting of the heat shields on your bike. (Shameless plug - if you decide to go that route, I’ll make you an offer you can’t refuse on them....)
