Thanks for the picture. What do you think the intended purpose was for that fitting from Harley?
I'll take a leap here. Maybe so one of of their mechanics at the dealership could see what oil pressure is before they order a new oil pump. The mechanic at my dealership told me he didn't have a fitting to check oil pressure on my m8 since it was different than a 96 twin cam. They finally replaced everything in the cam chest without checking oil pressure either before or after.
i will take some when im near the bike working today
How much oil comes out when plug is removed? Should I wait for my next oil change?
I bet your correct Harley would need someway to check pressure if their was a problem.

Hi Dr b, I received all my fittings and hose. I have never used this type of connectors before. When you push the hose and tighten nut to secure it, do you snug it up where you cant pull it apart or do you almost go where it wont turn anymore (within reason)? Its all coming together, Thanks for all your help!!

you put the bottom on the hose. Put a dab of wd40 or something similar in the hose. And screw the other part in till it bottomed our on the nut. I use the hose because it’s easier to use than steel baraid Hopefully it all goes well
