The Perfect Day
2 Attachment(s)
Woke up yesterday morning, weather was a crisp 40 degrees and sunny. Decided to go visit my parents up in East Texas. Had washed my bike the day before she was lookin good. Checked the tires, all good. Started her up, let her warm up a few minutes. Broke out the thermals, leather coat, FF Shoei and Gauntlet gloves. Headed out after filling the tank.
The ride was perfect one of those in the zone kinda days. Got to the folks house. Mom had fresh venison backstraps, fried okra, corn on the cob and mashed potatoes with fresh iced tea. Had a great dinner and home made peach cobbler for dessert. Dad and I went out on the back deck and made Cowboy Coffee on the single burner Coleman 502. Visited till dark and headed home. The ride was cold and windy but perfect with very little traffic. Pull in the garage and thought what a perfect day! 327 perfect miles. Come out this morning to clean the windshield and noticed this. (See Pics) Glad I didn't notice it last night. Off to the dealership Tuesday morning |
cant really tell from the pics, is that oil and or water. or trapped residue from when you cleaned the bike the day before that sprayed around from speed and wind on the road. only reason im asking is because its happened to me too after cleaning i got that same look. but mine was just "after clean" from it not being completely dry then riding.

No this is oil, I took the pics with my iPhone. Noticed oil on the floor, looks like its from the top rear cylinder. Oil is everywhere and dripping from bottom of frame. Both saddlebags are coated real good on the front panels.

Leaking rocker box...??
Pretty common I believe. Had my front gasket replaced about a year ago. |

Pushrod tube ....
we have seen leaks like this ....coming from one of the top pushrod tube o-rings ...
spray everything down with simple green to wash the oil off...blow dry ...then take a quick ride ...and see if you can determine where it's coming from... good luck .. |
And so much for the wash job. But hopefully be simple fix |
Sorry to see what happened Cbyway, but just curious why did u have to clean off the windshield, at 40 degree ride.
