What the shorter rod did do to six’s ride was make an ungodly squeaking noise!
I had heard of a couple people in my area that have taken a couple thousands off of the stock rod and it changed the engagement point. I have not talked to anyone personally it's just hearsay.
My bike is a 17 model. I changed the damper seat to the one that is installed in the 19 models. My engagement is now midways. The 19 is a couple thousands thicker.

Thing is the rod Rodder received isn’t as designed......it’s not been finished properly. If I was buying one to keep for later, I’d want a perfect one.

I’m letting him know he has a dud like six received........

If you can change your clutch engagement by changing pushrods, that’s great. Mine works identically with the fat rod.....yeah, it’s the same length, but my understanding is the slave takes up the slack as the tech post suggests.

I agree with you on that.

Did it effect the engagement point?

I questioned the finish of the ends in one of my posts early on, although the length was what I got hung up on. The noises in the actuator were either from the piston in the bore or the rod end in the piston cup. The replacement rod I was sent addressed both concerns, being the length and the finished ends that resulted in smooth quiet operation as stock but without the FN TRANSFER. Good Times!

I called Macomb County Choppers and talked to Greg. Looks like the rod I have will due.
Not sure about the clutch engagement point, but should work.
