Dipstick Fitment Issue 2018 Breakout 107

Hello all! I just purchased a 2018 Breakout 107! I live in Wisconsin so I haven't even gotten a chance to ride it yet but i've gone though the owners manual to familiarize myself with the all the features.

That being said I was going through bike in the garage and tried to check the engine oil and...I could not get the dipstick out to save my live! It could turn it about 45 degrees and that was it! I had to put a rag over the dipstick and take an adjustable wrench to turn it loose. I put the dipstick back in the case...but I had to use a rubber mallet to smack it down while I turned with my fingers.

So I took the dipstick back out and started to measure everything.

2018 Harley-Davidson Breakout 107
  1. Dip Stick Tube Bore = 1.1777
  2. Dip Stick with O-Ring Installed O.D. = 1.240”
  3. Dip Stick O-Ring Groove Diameter = 1.04”
  4. O-Ring Thickness (Removed from Dip Stick) = .105”
  5. O-Ring I.D. = Roughly 1.01”
  6. O-Ring O.D. = Roughly 1.210”
Let’s do some math!
1.240” - 1.177” = .063” Interference for the whole diameter
Or .0315” interference per side.

Now I understand these are petroleum based parts so these measurements are a ‘very close’ measurement with a 6” Mitutoyo 6” Dial

The dipstick tube is tapered on the top of it to allow the o-ring to easily be inserted without damaging it. So you have to get a measurement below the taper. You'll see once you look at it.

This is just a photo of the dipstick and dial caliper I used.
Caliper.

I was wondering if anyone would be so kind to measure the following?
- Dip Stick with O-Ring Installed O.D. =
- Dip Stick Tube Bore =

Thanks so much folks...I appreciate any help!
Joe
